What the State Pages Compare
WageDex uses the May 2025 BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics state tables. Choose a state or territory to compare its published occupation-level employment and wage estimates. The rows use the federal Standard Occupational Classification system, so the same occupation can be compared across available geographies.
How to Read State Estimates
OEWS estimates are produced from six semiannual survey panels collected over three years. A missing occupation-and-state value is not zero: BLS may withhold an estimate when it does not meet publication standards. Published medians and percentiles describe the wage distribution for covered jobs in that occupation and geography; they do not predict a particular worker's pay or a current employer offer.
Source and Method
The state pages use one standardized BLS release, not separate state datasets with different refresh schedules. State workforce agencies participate in OEWS data collection, while BLS supplies the survey procedures and publishes the estimates.
