Salary Search

Search 800+ occupations by job title Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics across all 50 states; see our methodology.

How WageDex Search Works

The search tool on this page lets you find any occupation in the full WageDex dataset, sourced from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics OEWS survey. We index every occupation at ingestion time so typical queries return in well under a second. Matching is tolerant of partial input and common misspellings, you can type a job title, a related keyword, or any fragment of an occupation name. If you get no results, try broadening the query or using a shorter prefix.

Every search queries our database of BLS OEWS occupation and area wage data. We refresh the underlying data on the same cadence the BLS publishes it, check the methodology page for the current source vintage, and we do not modify the underlying wage figures, we only normalize formatting (title case, trimmed whitespace, standardized state codes) so results are consistent across occupations with different naming conventions. Results link directly to the full occupation page, where you will see national and metro-level wage figures plus plain-language explainers.

Responsible Use of Search Results

Wage figures surfaced here are drawn from BLS OEWS survey data, but occupational wage estimates can lag real-world changes and vary by employer, experience, and negotiation. Before making a consequential career or salary decision, you should cross-reference current job postings and, where possible, the specific employer's offer. WageDex does not render career or financial advice and does not accept paid placement for any occupation or employer. We surface public wage data faithfully and explain it in clear language; how you act on the information is your responsibility.

Search Privacy

Your search queries are processed server-side and are not attached to any account. We log aggregate query patterns (term frequencies, not individual queries tied to a person) for the sole purpose of improving the search index and flagging records where visitors expect more detail. We never sell, share, or resell search logs. If you would like your query logs disregarded entirely, enable private browsing or a tracker-blocker, we respect these settings.
